Although COB light strips are slightly more expensive, that doesn't mean they're better than LED light strips. LED light strips emit light directly from the LEDs, while COB light strips refract light through the silicone surface, resulting in a softer, more dim light color.
For aluminum channels with an installation depth exceeding one centimeter, LED light strips offer a more transparent and brighter light. Therefore, COB light strips are recommended for shorter distances or in deep interior spaces. For linear lights that are concealed and invisible, or where the pre-buried light strips in the ceiling are deeper than one centimeter, LED light strips are a better choice.
